A choral work by Philip Glass from his opera Einstein On The Beach in Glass’s trademark minimal style. The work is based upon overlapping repeating rhythmic motives, with 5 Knee Play pieces used to punctuate the Opera between acts. Written for unaccompanied SATB chorus
This work paints a picture of a winter landscape at dusk tied to the thougts of one solemnly reflecting on themes of war, mourning, and the appreciation of motherhood and birth. A new and different take on winter themes.
